Melissa Allen, PT, DPT
Physical Therapist
Melissa completed her undergrad at Rutgers University and later graduated from Drexel University with her Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2023. Melissa enjoys working with people with neck pain, headaches, and dizziness, and has contributed to the development of a Clinical Practice Guideline (CPG) focused on running injuries.
In February of this year, Melissa experienced a snowboarding accident that resulted in a fractured pelvis. She underwent ORIF surgical repair and has been rehabbing her hip ever since. While the injury was unfortunate, the experience has given her an intimate understanding of pelvic fractures and post-op rehabilitation. It is one thing to learn about neuromuscular inhibition, weight-bearing restrictions, and scar tissue pain, but it is another thing entirely to experience it herself.
Melissa’s therapy philosophy centers around identifying the root cause of pain and designing personalized treatment plans that combine targeted exercises and lifestyle adjustments. She prioritizes the well-being and satisfaction of her patients, aiming to make the rehabilitation process enjoyable and rewarding. Melissa uses her love for anatomy to help people reduce pain and live healthier lives.
Melissa enjoys hiking, snowboarding, reading, and spending time with her two cats and dog.
