Katie Woolf is our guest for this episode of Mountain Land Physical Therapy’s Pelvic Health Podcast. She received her bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University-Hawaii in Exercise Sports Science with minor in Mathematics followed by her Doctorate in Physical Therapy at Eastern Washington University and completed her Pelvic Rehabilitation Practitioner Certification in 2020. She is currently serving as APTA Utah Public Relations Chair and Utah Pelvic Health Special Interest Group President. During this podcast we discuss the medical journey and intricacies of our trans population with male to female transition. The information discussed includes WPATH requirements for surgery, descriptions of the vaginoplasty and vulvoplasty procedures, expectations of pre and post-op medical and physical therapy appointments and specific PT interventions including education, scar tissue mobilization, stretching, lymph massage and dilator training.
